Top 3 Childhood MMOs

Growing up in the 2000s was amazing for various reasons. One of my favorite memories was going home from school and logging into whatever MMO I was feeling that day. Throughout this post, I will be talking about the three MMOs I would play the most as a child and why they were probably so addicting to me.

Moshi Monsters

This game was honestly just a fun time. The design of all the potential monsters you could adopt were all so cute and there were little mini adventures were able to do. I don’t remember a lot about this game, but I remember being a 7-year-old and going absolutely feral whenever I would beat any of the mini games.

Fantage

Fantage was an MMO that I spent most of my childhood on. The characters or avatars you could create were in the style of 16-bit characters and there were mini games you could complete as well. I think I enjoyed this game a lot because of the design of the world. In Fantage, your character roams around on an island-like environment and my tiny brain thought that was very cool because it reminded me of the movie Sky High. Overall, very upset Fantage shut down, but I appreciate the memories it gave me.

Club Penguin

No list for old MMOs would be complete without the mention of Club Penguin. Unfortunately, I was one of those kids who talked my parents into getting me the premium membership. The only thing I would end up doing with that status was dress up my penguin in clothes. Even so, I mainly played Club Penguin because I enjoyed the mini games. There was also an option for your penguin to become a secret spy agent, and you best believe I completed every single mission.
