As an admittedly “lazy” person, I wanted to make a post for any other people who feel the same as I do. For most college students, the main issue with eating healthy is that you usually have to make it yourself. Unless you can spend money on healthy alternatives to fast food or find the the time to make a meal (with a complicated recipe) yourself at home, fast food is usually the way to go. Of course, all of this applies to myself and I don’t mean to say that all college students are the same as I. This post is just for anyone who needs extra encouragement or inspiration to live a healthier lifestyle.
Soup is one of the hardiest meals and I think that most people underestimate how filling it can be. One of my favorite soup recipes, 4 Ingredient Potato Soup, has been my go-to meal for the past few weeks.
Salads are actually one of my favorite things to make lately because there is so much variety to it. I change what toppings on put on it almost every time I make one because it’s honestly hard not to. However, if you are looking for a more direct recommendation, this recipe has always been one of my favorite combinations. You can also mix up the type of dressing you use. I typically use either balsamic vinegar or Italian dressing.
When you combine everything, it should look like the meal I made myself on the right. As you can see, having the soup AND the salad makes this meal seem like it has more than it seems. I do appreciate how simple the ingredients are and how affordable this was to make. I probably have enough extra ingredients to last another week at least. Overall, keep the combinations fun and changing. This will help you in your journey to increasing your healthy eating.
