Monthly Favorites! [October 2022]

I will be listing 5 of my favorite random things and giving summaries to show why and how I have made those decisions. I think that this series is going show a lot of my personality, so it will be fun to look back on these posts for my own amusement as well.

1. Crispy Smashed Potatoes

  • I love potatoes. However, I love them so much more when they are crispy. I enjoy the texture and the recipe is not too complicated. I use this recipe, but I also add garlic. I have it on good authority from my brother and parents that this snack is very delicious. If you are looking for something to make on days off or for party favors, this is always a good option.

2. The Habit Burger Grill

  • I have mentioned in another blog post that I enjoy fast food chains. I think that the Habit has gained a new frequent customer. I enjoy almost everything on the menu, but some of my favorites are the onion rings and the Ahi Tuna Filet Sandwich. I also think their salads are my favorite of all salads in fast food chains at the moment. All in all, the Habit definitely delivers for me.

3. Goldwell Kerasilk Color Intensive Luster Hydrating Hair Mask

  • That mouth-full is my holy grail conditioner product of all time. I highly recommend this for anyone with color or bleach treated hair. I have been dying and bleaching my hair for about 9 years straight and my hair is practically dead at the ends. This product has given my hair shine again, so I will only speak positive things about it.

4. Corpse Bride

  • October, being the month of Halloween, makes this a very exciting time for me because I love the spooky energy it gives off. Though not the scariest movie I have watched this month, Corpse Bride has always been classic masterpiece to me. The soundtrack alone brought me to tears the first time I watched it.

5. Solar Opposites

  • This has been a favorite of mine for a while. This show is about aliens who crash land into suburbia and live life as mundanely as possible. This is difficult for them, since every single one of them are different levels of “odd”, which leads to make wild and trippy shenanigans. As a disclaimer, this is definitely not a show for children or for anyone who does not enjoy “slightly” dark and satyrical humor.

Listing these items out has given me the opportunity to laugh many times, so I think this has been a good experience. I think that every single item has greatly improved different aspects of my live this month and I appreciate that.
