I understand that the best case scenario for a healthy and balanced diet is to prepare homemade meals. However, I have been in situations where I have had to juggle two jobs, as well as be a full time student. Unfortunately, most of the rest of my time outside of being in class or work was meant for doing homework. For anyone who would like to know how to meal prep the “lazy” way, here are 3 of my favorite fast food chains to meal prep from and some menu items I would like to highlight.
1) Jack in the Box
- ALL DAY BREAKFAST
- I personally love their Supreme Croissant, and the fact that they have all day breakfast makes me very happy. If you are in the mood for a full breakfast spread, the Jumbo Platter as a combo definitely hits the spot.
- Chicken Salads (Club, Southwest, Grilled)
- If I am looking to order something that is quick and definitely well-balanced, I always go for the southwest chicken salad. They also give you a lot of dressing for their salads, which is much appreciated.
2) Wendy’s
- $4 for 4/$5 Biggie Bag*
- I won’t lie. I am a sucker for a gimmick and I will always be looking for meal deals no matter where I am at in my stage in life. Unfortunately, these are limited deals, but even so they always have something going on for us financially challenged.

3) Taco Bell
- Crunchwraps
- Crunchwraps are big and hardy, and that is why I always get two when I order my food. I can leave it in a fridge for at least one day and it can still pass for a satisfying meal.
- Chicken Chalupas
- I genuinely just like ordering things that I can’t readily make at home. Their Chalupas are also hardy and satisfying.
I understand that there are plenty of people that prefer to make home cooked meals, and that is perfectly okay. This post is for anyone that needs a little extra time to focus on their career or education. There is no need to starve yourself even if you have to opt out of a home-cooked meal, and there are ways to consume a well-balanced meal through fast food chains.
